Weight Fucking Watchers

I just joined Weight Watchers. I'm feeling very, very surly about it. In my head I'm DARING someone to tell me I can't eat brownies.

I don't know that this is a good beginning.

I haven't done the meetings (only online), but I love WW. Granted I've tried it several times with varying, but not lasting, success. But the diet itself is varied enough that I don't get bored, and it rewards you for exercise, and sometimes (okay, often) I need that incentive. In my case it also encourages me to cook, even if it's quick five minute meals. And if you stay on it, you lose 1-2 pounds a week. Period. Almost everyone I know who has done this diet has only plateaued or gained when cheating on WW, not while following it.

I also like that if you have something like a birthday a week away, you can plan for it and eat a higher calorie meal/cake/etc without actually sabotaging your diet. I don't do that too often - I like to spread my extra points across the whole week - but it has saved my bacon, pardon the pun, a few times.

In my experience, the first few days are tough because, well, at least if you're me, your caloric intake goes way down (that's what happens when you get used to eating 3500 calories a day - thank you Panda Express!). So I spent the first few days cranky and more hungry than I wanted to be. But toward the end of that first week it all starts to balance and your body starts expecting the much healtier WW daily intake, and life becomes much easier. Also, in this stretch I've been on it about 4 weeks, and my body is so used to that level of calories that I actually get a little sick if I go way over. Which is also a good incentive not to gorge myself.

So my point is, I think you'll enjoy it, I certainly hope so. Good luck!!!
